Erstellung von Software zur FKM-Richtlinie Bruchmechanischer Festigkeitsnachweis für Maschinenbautei
FKM 2004
Issue No. 281
Project No. 253
Abstract:
In the research project, a software was developed that provides evaluation concepts and calculation procedures of the FKM guideline Fracture mechanical strength verification for machine components, edition 2001, in an effective and user-friendly way and thus enables the fracture mechanical evaluation of components with existing or postulated defects for applications in design, quality management, suitability for use and failure analysis. The guideline is based on the European procedure SINTAP and the British Standard 7910. With the FracSafe software, designers and calculation engineers are able to quickly answer fracture mechanics questions. FracSafe can be used, for example, to determine requirements for materials and joining methods during the design phase, define requirements for components during production, reduce development and production times as well as downtimes, evaluate the suitability for use of defective components during operation and, in the event of damage, investigate the causes and draw conclusions for similar applications. FracSafe is distributed by VDMA-Verlag together with the FKM guideline Fracture Mechanics Strength Verification for Machine Components. The source of supply and conditions can be found at www.fracsafe.de. The objective of the research project has been achieved. Scope of report:
42 p., 34 fig. and 5 tab, 11 lit. Start of work:
01.01.2002 End of work:
30.06.2003 Funding body:
