Abstract:

The blades of gas turbines (rear stage) and steam turbines (low pressure stage) are subjected to high tensile swell stresses during start-up and shut-down processes due to the centrifugal forces that occur. Due to their length, the bending fatigue stress induced by blade vibrations must also be taken into account. With this load combination, the highest stresses or stress gradients occur in the blade root. To simulate these operating conditions, tests are carried out on component-like specimens (T specimens) made of the materials X10CrNiMoV12-2-2 at room temperature and Rene 80 at 400°C.
