Einfluss der Probengröße auf das Ermüdungsverhalten bauteilähnlicher Kerbproben unter einstufigen un
FKM 1995
Booklet No. 192
Project No. 149
Abstract:
The aim of the project was to examine the stress-mechanical and statistical influence of variables with regard to service life estimation according to the local concept and the nominal stress concept. Fatigue tests were carried out on smooth and notched round specimens with diameters of 8, 16 and 32 mm of the material 42 CrMo 4 V under purely alternating single-stage and random loading. When investigating the deformation and failure behavior of axially stressed, unnotched round bars, no influence of the specimen size on the cyclic material data could be determined. Unnotched round specimens subjected to rotating bending showed a diameter dependence of the cyclic component yield curves and the failure cycles. For both single-stage and random tensile-compression loading of notched specimens, lower numbers of cracks and failure cycles were recorded with increasing diameter. The comparison of the crack life estimation showed that both the nominal stress and the local concept achieve very good results that are comparable in terms of accuracy if the size influence is mapped with the defect model and a common and largely statistically verified database is used as a basis. Scope of report:
