Abstract:

Multi-axial single-stage and fatigue strength tests for alternating bending and torsion were carried out on smooth test specimens made of heat-treatable steel 30 CrNiMo 8 under out-of-phase, medium-load, quasi-static and alternating loading. A phenomenological analysis of the position and inclination of the Wöhler and fatigue life lines was carried out. Shear and strain-controlled basic tests on hollow specimens show that the cyclic material behavior is partly dependent on the stress state. A calculation module for multi-axiality based on nominal stresses is proposed as an engineering suggestion. The complexity of the more axial fatigue strength makes it necessary to consider influencing variables factorial. Strain and displacement measurements were carried out for non-proportional load cases. The calculation of the stress-strain paths using the approximation method derived from notch stresses I and 11. approximation method provides satisfactory results. In selected cases, the crack life was predicted with sufficient accuracy for combined single-stage and fatigue tests according to the local concept. Scope of report:
