Further accompanying tools (guidelines and training documents) have been developed for the Code of Conduct published by the ZVEI and VDMA in January 2022, which are now exclusively available free of charge to VDMA and ZVEI member companies. They are intended to support the appropriate implementation of the compliance and sustainability content of the Code of Conduct in the company and provide further information and assistance, particularly for the implementation of sustainability topics.

As well as two training documents (PPT) - a short version and a long version, which you can use in your company to provide information about the content of the Code of Conduct or to train employees on the content.

Compliance and sustainability requirements are constantly increasing and are increasingly becoming a prerequisite for business relationships. With the cross-industry Code of Conduct, which the VDMA developed together with the ZVEI and members of both associations in 2021, the associations want to support companies in this task. The Code of Conduct is available to member companies, their suppliers and all interested parties. Accompanying tools (support materials consisting of an implementation guide and training documents) for applying the Code of Conduct in the company have now been published and are available free of charge to VDMA members in the members' area of the VDMA website (link opposite).

This cross-industry Code of Conduct describes the principles and standards of conduct relevant to the mechanical and plant engineering industry and the electrical and digital industry that the signatory company must observe in terms of responsible conduct. The ZVEI-VDMA Code of Conduct is based on internationally established standards and covers the relevant topics. It is voluntary in its application and represents a non-binding association recommendation. The Code of Conduct is designed as a voluntary commitment that can be applied and communicated within the company and to partners such as customers and suppliers.
