6 List of illustrations
Based on the Quality Gate concept, the guide describes the necessary elements of a healthy development process in the form of a "mechatronic reference model". Structured according to the main areas of development, this summarizes the requirements for methods and tools for mechatronics. These are based on a list of the required core functionalities of a mechatronic development environment, which was created on the basis of the
research results of the BMBF-funded ProMiS and BESTVOR projects and in cooperation with manufacturers from the mechanical and plant engineering sector.
Methods and best practices in mechatronic engineering are also presented. In addition, the experience gained by the users involved in MEPROMA with the introduction and application of new methods is presented in the form of best practices. Finally, the suitability of the methods for mechatronic product development is always assessed on the basis of the requirements for a healthy development process defined in Chapter 2.
In addition to the best practices, the book contains slide collections from the companies ITQ, KAPP, SOMIC, OPTIMA and TRUMPF.
